EATON RAPIDS – State Representative Mike Simpson
(D-Liberty Township)
joined with state and local leaders today to announce a $52,040 grant to the city of Eaton
Rapids for public electrical upgrades needed to support the expansion of Precision Prototype and
Manufacturing. The project is expected to double the company's current workforce, creating 25 new jobs and more than
$5.3 million in private investment.
"By expanding and investing in Michigan, companies like Precision
Prototype are showing their confidence in the dedicated and highly skilled workers we have here," Simpson said. "This is
great news for our local economy."
The city will use the grants to help finance municipal electrical upgrades, including the addition of a transformer
to service a new building on Precision Prototype's current site. It will house equipment that will allow the company to
expand into heavy metal fabrication.
Precision Prototype specializes in precision production of high-quality metal and composite parts. The company's
nationwide customer base is diverse and includes the furniture industry and United
States military.
