The MIS released a new economic study today that showed the renowned race venue generates more than $400 million
in total economic activity. It also generates more than 5,000 jobs for local workers during race weekends, with an
annual payroll of more than $5 million.
MIS today also announced $10 million in capital improvements for projects such as upgrading more than 6,000
seats, installing new facilities and a state-of-the-art leader board, as well improving directional signage. Altogether,
MIS has made $66 million in investments between 2000 and 2006.
MIS is a leader in giving back to the community, spearheading charitable and humanitarian events, such as the
nation's largest single-day blood drive and other fund-raisers to benefit a wide range of causes.
